How I work.
I offer individual therapy for adults and adolescents. I work from a trauma-informed biopsychosocial perspective. This means that I always take into consideration the individual, cultural and systemic factors that impact how we’re feeling and how we’re interacting with the world. It also means that safety and the relational aspect of therapy are an integral part of the healing process as you learn to navigate your way through your concerns and shift your relationships to yourselves and the world around us.
I use a number of evidence based interventions to support you through your therapy process. No two clients are the same and I adapt these techniques based on your needs and presentation. Importantly, I work dynamically and integrate my therapeutic toolkit to ensure that therapy is tailored to your needs and personal preference.
I’m regularly updating my skills with professional development and supervision and use the following evidence based treatments as the foundation of my work:
Cognitive Behavioural Therapy
Schema Therapy
Acceptance and Commitment Therapy
Mindfulness and Body-Based Techniques
“Between stimulus and response there is a space. In that space is our power to choose our response. In our response lies our growth and our freedom.”
