About Me.

I’m a registered psychologist and member of the Australian Psychological Society. I’ve been practising since 2015, working initially in the corporate sector in Occupational Rehabilitation, before moving into the Not for Profit sector working with refugees and asylum seekers, with the Department of Education as a School Psychologist and in Private Practice. I’ve presented at the Applied Neuroscience Society of Australasia conference in 2017 on the use of peripheral biofeedback in traumatised populations, provided consultant services with the Yoga Impact Charity and have volunteered with homelessness and domestic violence services.

My experience with various cross-sections of society and clinical presentations has equipped me with a well-rounded and responsive approach to treatment. I’ve worked with people from diverse backgrounds confronting challenges such as life and career transitions, complex trauma, grief and loss, relationship difficulties and exploration of identity. I tailor my therapeutic interventions to best suit you, integrating evidence based practices from the schools of cognitive therapy, mindfulness-based therapies and somatic therapies.

Most importantly, I see you as a whole person, with your world of experiences, beliefs, thoughts, feelings and complexities. I work with you in a collaborative manner and am passionate about helping you integrate these experiences to move towards a relationship with yourself and the world around you that feels fulfilling.

My Vision.

Starting therapy can feel like a scary step to take and I recognise how daunting it can be to reach out for help to speak to someone. Often it feels like traditional psychology doesn’t capture all of our nuances that come with being human in today’s society. I have a passion for working with people from a diverse array of backgrounds and intersectionalities, including race, gender, sexuality and socioeconomic background. We all have our own story to share and my role as a psychologist is to meet you at the life stage and emotional state that you’re in, and work through this together. I am particularly interested in examining ways in which traditional psychological frameworks work for and against people from various backgrounds and experiences. I think it is impossible to remove the person from the context that we live in and I take a holistic approach to understanding and working with my clients.

I also recognise that the work I do is a privileged position to take in another person’s life. I approach my work with respect and humility, combined with a dose of down-to-earth humour. I believe you are the expert in your life and with my skills and experience I aim to provide you with a safe space where you feel held, heard and genuinely seen. Together we can navigate life’s challenges and find a way through that provides a sense of liberation and integration.
